Abiqua Academy emphasizes a college preparatory curriculum that is academically rigorous and encourages critical and creative thinking. Students work to master core curriculum and are challenged to explore their interests and become enthusiastic learners through elective courses created and driven by student input. Abiqua’s High School team works hard to create and sustain a positive, vibrant sense of community where each student is valued and validated.
A Superior High School for College Bound Learners
Abiqua offers a wide breadth of Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and Dual-Credit courses. Students are supported in identifying and gaining admission to the colleges of their choice. With daily advisory or “Town Hall” meetings, students develop strong communication skills and confidence in public speaking.
Students are encouraged to explore service opportunities and internships that correlate to his or her personal and academic interests. In their senior year, students plan and conduct a year-long research-based investigation, writing an academic thesis suitable for publication and culminating in a multi-media public presentation.

Abiqua is the best high school in the world. It is a perfect fit for me. I am excited to go to class every day- whether it is in the science lab, outside studying topography, working in my cubicle, or studying with my friends around the conference table like college students. My teachers know me well and are available for extra help and encouragement when I need it – and I’m not nervous to ask them! I feel independent because I have personal learning time built into my schedule- which means not much homework (if I plan it right). I LOVE this school, and I am so thankful to be here.
