The Admission Process
Congratulations! You discovered Abiqua! You've already taken the first step toward providing your child with an amazing education. The following steps will guide you through the admission process.
If you have not already done so, please complete our inquiry form.
SCHEDULE A TOUR
Tours are a great way to see Abiqua in action! During your tour, you will see the campus, visit classrooms, and meet members of our Faculty and Staff, including your child's potential teacher, if possible. Tours are meant just for adults. We make every effort to work with your busy schedule.
open house - Tuesday, March 13th at 6pm
At an Abiqua Academy Open House you will have an opportunity to meet Head of School, Kay Johnson, Brittany Fobi and Missy Samiee from Admissions, and Jesse Newman our IT Director. Abiqua's Master Teachers from Pre-K through High School will be in their classrooms waiting to meet you and answer any questions you might have. Abiqua staff and faculty will provide an overview of our program and answer any questions you might have. It is our hope that you will leave encouraged, inspired, and interested in continuing the admissions process.
After submitting the application, we will contact you to schedule a visit for your student(s). The length of the visit may vary depending upon the student’s grade level, but is traditionally an entire school day. During the visit, the student will experience a day in the life of an Abiqua student. Shadow students should demonstrate appropriate mathematical, verbal, and social skills with teachers and peers. They will show they can complete independent work within academic expectations, involve themselves in a collaborative learning environment, and actively participate in the learning process.
Formal testing will be scheduled following the student's shadow day and will include the subjects of math, reading, and writing.

COMPLETE APPLICATIONFollowing your tour, Admission Director Missy Samiee will email an online application. In addition to the application a reference will need to be provided by an educational professional familiar with the student, such as a previous teacher. References are welcome but not necessary for Pre-K students. For upper grades, an on-demand writing sample is requested.
Notification and Enrollment Contract
Admission decisions are based on a holistic assessment of the individual’s ability to succeed and thrive at Abiqua and the family's willingness to support the school.
The Enrollment Director, Brittany Fobi, will notify the family regarding the admission decision. Enrollment contracts will be emailed for accepted students.
